150 guests participated in a spectacular inauguration ceremony of the six-seater lift that takes skiers to the highest point of the ski area in Livigno
Livigno, December 14, 2025 – A sunny day provided the backdrop for the official inauguration of the new Altavista lift, the flagship of the infrastructural renewal of Montagna Carosello 3000 in view of the Olympic season. About 150 guests, including local institutions, partner companies, and stakeholders of the territory, attended the ceremony organized at the Blesaccia peak, at an altitude of 2,794 meters.
Already in its name, Altavista perfectly summarizes the essence of the lift: the new lift actually reaches the highest point of the skiable area in Livigno, from where one can enjoy a spectacular 360° view of the Livigno Valley and the parallel Val Federia. To celebrate this milestone, guests were brought to the inauguration site in two ways: skiers experienced a guided tour by ski instructors that also included other new features of the area – from the new Baby lift to the enhanced Federia lift in hourly capacity – while the group on foot reached the lift's arrival point transported by a fleet of snowcats.
The new Altavista lift replaces the historic Blesaccia II with a six-seater lift with automatic attachments that redefines the standards of the area. Equipped with protective domes and heated seats, it ensures maximum comfort even on the coldest days, while the automatic safety bar closure system guarantees peace of mind for all passengers.
Accompanied by his father Bernardo and his uncle Giovanni, the General Manager of Carosello 3000 Stefano Cusini emphasized that "this lift represents a strategic investment not only in terms of technology and performance, but especially in the quality of the experience we want to offer our guests. In view of the 2026 Olympics, our ambition is to bring Livigno to the highest levels."
The lift's performance is indeed of superior quality: starting from 2,322 meters, the lift reaches 2,794 meters with a maximum capacity of 2,800 people per hour and a speed of 5 meters per second, bringing skiers to the top in just 5 minutes. From here, the Blesaccia, Femminile, and Zuelli slopes offer a non-stop descent of 1,000 meters down to the valley.
"A big thank you to the Cusini family and to all the private entrepreneurs who believe in the future of the location," declared the Mayor of Livigno Remo Galli. "Livigno is racing forward thanks to the accelerator of the Olympics. Altavista is an excellence structure for those who will ski in Livigno, and we have other great infrastructures coming, such as the link between the slopes."
Taking the floor was also the councilor of the Fondazione Milano-Cortina Sergio Schena, who thanked Carosello 3000 for the passion with which it is contributing to the realization of the Olympic event, the President of APT Livigno, Luca Moretti, who highlighted how Altavista is a product capable of activating tourism, and the President of Skipass Livigno, Giorgio Zini, who pointed out the beautiful mountain context provided by the lift.
This extremely scenic context provided an exceptional location for the inauguration, with a welcome drink and music in an atmosphere made even more evocative by the perfectly sunny day. After the traditional blessing of the lift by Don Gianluca, the ribbon-cutting featured a spectacular choreography with music, smoke bombs, and flame throwers that officially celebrated the opening of the new lift, providing a moment of great emotion for all present.
The day continued in the new panoramic room of the Ristoro Carosello 3000 with a high-quality informal brunch, characterized by a rich buffet and hot dishes prepared with care by the staff led by director Massimo Murgia. A convivial moment enriched by the tasting of Sforzato Carlo Negri 3000, a special label from the prestigious Valtellinese winery Nino Negri, aged right at Carosello 3000 to be opened in the Olympic year.
Acknowledgment plaques were presented to the Cusini family by representatives of Doppelmayr, the leading company in cable cars and the builder of Altavista, and of TecnoAlpin, a cutting-edge company in artificial snowmaking, both of which are historic partners of Carosello 3000.
The inauguration of Altavista represents a symbolic moment for Carosello 3000 and for the entire territory of Livigno, which is preparing to be the official venue of the Winter Games Milan Cortina 2026, hosting the freestyle and snowboard competitions. Investments in modern and high-performance infrastructures confirm the area's vocation for innovation, ready to welcome athletes and enthusiasts from all over the world in a unique alpine setting.
