My name is Edi Simonini and, if today in Valtellina and Valchiavenna there is a portal that tells about all the events, day by day, it’s because in 2011 I had a flash of inspiration… (and also quite a bit of courage): creating Calendario Valtellinese.

From an idea born by chance, came what I today consider my third child.

Because, like real children, I watched it grow, change, improve, becoming a point of reference for anyone who wants to know what’s happening in Valtellina and Valchiavenna.

My passion for my work and for Valtellina pushed me to create a useful tool, consulted by thousands of people, both those who live here and those who come to discover it.

I have worked in various fields, experimented, had successes and also some good falls (scraped knees make for a resume).

But one thing has never changed: the love for my land and the desire to tell its story the right way.

Today Calendario Valtellinese is the most up-to-date and visited site to find out about fairs, concerts, festivals, markets, sports and cultural events… If there’s something to do, you’ll find it here.

I don’t just report events: I am a copywriter and marketing expert, a field in which I have been active for years. I help companies, local businesses, and event organizers get noticed, attract audiences, and communicate effectively.

Because storytelling is an art, but doing it strategically makes the difference.

If you follow me, you know my style is simple, direct, ironic, and no-nonsense.

I don’t like intrusive advertising (in fact, on Calendario Valtellinese you won’t find any), I am free to write what I want and promote only those who truly believe in the value of well-done communication.

Calendario Valtellinese is active 365 days a year, always updated, always on point.

But behind it there are no algorithms or bots: there are me and an incredible team.

  • Martina, my longtime partner, my right hand. She has a special radar to spot events, post them on the site, and promote them on social media. If something happens in Valtellina and Valchiavenna, she knows about it.
  • Giorgia, my daughter, whom I “kidnap” whenever I need to make reels or a photoshoot. She has another job, but when needed she becomes a photographer and videomaker…
  • Silvia, the new entry, social media manager in charge of the business section, helping them get noticed and promoted the right way.
If you find an event on Calendario Valtellinese, it’s because Martina or I have selected, verified, and promoted it carefully.

Whenever I can, I attend the events, chat with the organizers, experience it firsthand.

The same goes for businesses: I don’t just post an announcement, I go meet them, try their products, listen to their stories. Only this way can I tell their story properly and recommend to you, who follow me, only things I truly believe in.
