After the flattering debut last year, the Municipality of Tirano is pleased to present the program of events for the Christmas holidays 2025 “Christmas - Tirano da favola”.

New lights and festive decorations will illuminate the city in an enchanting and suggestive setting, which will accompany citizens and visitors from the end of November until Epiphany. The program “Christmas - Tirano da favola” is the result of a synergistic collaboration between the municipal administration, volunteer groups, city associations, and numerous public and private partners, primarily the Comunità Montana Media Valtellina, the Unione del Commercio e del Turismo Mandamentale, the Consorzio Turistico Media Valtellina, A2A, Credit Agricole, MTS Gruppo Maganetti, Concreta Srl, the Province of Sondrio/APF Valtellina, which finances the drone show, and other public and private partners, with the aim of offering a calendar of 40 days of events, activities, moments of joy, sharing, and discovery of the city.

"A great collaborative project that involves all city actors, who have gathered around a single table to make it possible for Tirano to have a Christmas worthy of a Mandamento capital that is increasingly a destination of appeal in the Valtellina landscape, as well as a place appreciated by visitors from all over the world, who crowd it now 12 months a year, drawn by the charm of the Trenino Rosso del Bernina and discovering with pleasure a welcoming alpine city, rich in history, quality cultural events, nature, good food, and excellent wines."

“The Christmas season in Tirano will be a time rich in events, an opportunity to experience our city under a different light and to savor together the magical atmosphere of the holidays. Tirano will become the stage for events that will create an unforgettable experience for both adults and

children, awakening the Christmas spirit. The new lights and the large ice skating rink will be officially inaugurated on Saturday, November 29 at 2:30 PM during an event open to the entire population, “Accendiamo il Natale insieme”, during which we will discover the musical tree standing 10 meters tall in Piazza Cavour, the enchanting enchanted forest in Piazza Marinoni, Santa Claus's giant train, the choir of angels in Piazza Basilica, luminous snowflakes along the streets of the city, and the luminous and sound piano in Piazza San Martino. In addition to the traditional Immacolata markets, from January 3 to 6 there will be the Epiphany market. Another great novelty will be the drone show “Winter Show” scheduled for the evening of January 5, 2026, as part of the traditional event “Festeggiamo la Befana” with the Gruppo Alpini Madonna di Tirano in Piazza Basilica."

Given the great success of last year, the following initiatives will also be confirmed:

- The Christmas markets in Piazza Cavour on December 5-6-7-8;

- Horse-drawn carriage rides in the historic center;

- The nativity scene circuit;

- Cultural events, workshops, and concerts in collaboration with city groups and associations;

- Walk of Santa Clauses and descent from the bell tower of San Martino on December 22;

- New Year's Eve in Piazza Cavour on December 31;

- New Year's concert on January 4 courtesy of the “Banda cittadina Madonna di Tirano”;

- The traditional “Gabinat” on January 5, 2026;

- “Festeggiamo la Befana” in Piazza Basilica on the evening of January 5 with the drone show “Winter Show”.
