The Forgotten Romantic Nineteenth Century
AMAMUSICA for Ancient Churches and Residences 2025

AMA Musica – Associazione Morbegnese Arte e Musica APS – presents the concert The Other Half of Art – Women in Music, the first event of the 2025 edition of AMAMUSICA for Ancient Churches and Residences, scheduled for August 30, 2025 at 8:30 PM at the Salone d’Onore of Palazzo Salis in Tirano.

The protagonist of the evening will be the Quartetto Obterg, consisting of established young Italian musicians active as soloists and principal players in prestigious orchestras, including:

• Mozarteumorchester of Salzburg
• Teatro Carlo Felice of Genoa
• Teatro La Fenice of Venice
• Orchestra of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia of Rome

The program is part of the 2025 artistic project of AMAMUSICA, dedicated to the forgotten women composers of music history: a rich but almost unexplored repertoire, made up of thousands of pages that have remained unheard and often never published.

For this debut in Tirano, music by Franz Schubert and Louise Farrenc will be performed. The initiative will continue in October in Morbegno with a baroque repertoire, always aimed at enhancing the surprising female creativity in art music.
