The rich program of festivities in Sondalo, promoted by local associations, concluded with great enthusiasm, culminating in the traditional and beloved Gabinàt Sondalin festival, one of the most felt moments of local tradition.

The afternoon kicked off at 2 PM with the opening show by Carol and the animation by the Animando group, who launched a day dedicated to fun and sharing. The undisputed protagonists were the little ones: about 150 children enthusiastically participated in the Caccia al Dono, a widespread path that animated the Library, the CAG Sondalo, and the Oratorio, before concluding at the Cittadella dello Sport with a snack and the much-anticipated arrival of the Befana. Many families were present, confirming how this festival represents a special moment for the entire town.

The Gabinàt Sondalin 2026 thus renewed the historic tradition of the "Notte dei doni," giving children joy, surprise, and wonder, and establishing itself as an event capable of uniting tradition and community, involving the whole town in a festive atmosphere.

The day concluded with a high-impact event: the ice show "Aspettando le Olimpiadi," presented in preview in Sondalo by the OSA on ICE Pattinaggio Artistico Valtellina association, made in collaboration with the Municipality of Sondalo. The ice rink welcomed a large audience, transforming into a place for gathering and sharing for the whole community.

For the occasion, the ice rink (managed by CAI Sondalo, which collaborated on the show) became a real stage, where young skaters brought to life a show that successfully combined art and sport. Through engaging choreographies, the main winter Olympic sports were represented, telling on ice universal values such as passion, commitment, determination, respect, and friendship.

The performance opened with the entrance of athletes accompanied by the Italian flag, the Olympic rings, and the torchbearers, symbols of the Olympic flame and its values of peace and unity. Throughout the evening, representations of ice hockey, luge, cross-country skiing, and alpine skiing followed, culminating in a refined figure skating performance that captured the audience with elegance and technique.

Closing the show, an emotional carousel of flags celebrated the union between different peoples and cultures, reaffirming how sport is a universal language capable of uniting and inspiring.

Thus, Gabinàt Sondalin confirms to be an engaging festival, capable of involving both young and old, enhancing local traditions, and looking to the future with enthusiasm, offering Sondalo a festive closure rich in emotions, participation, and a sense of belonging.
