On Monday, October 27, 2025, the technical loop for cross-country skiing opens in Livigno, created thanks to the technique of snowfarming, which allows for the preservation of snow collected during the winter to be reused to anticipate the start of the winter season.

The snow stored during last winter and preserved throughout the summer thanks to geo-textile covers allows for a perfectly snow-covered and prepared track for training of the professional cross-country skiing teams as early as October.

The technical loop allows athletes to train at high altitude, over 1,800 meters above sea level, benefiting from altitude training for aerobic preparation and building physical fitness in view of the competitive season.
In the coming days, some of the best interpreters from the international cross-country skiing scene are expected in Livigno, choosing the location as a reference point for their autumn training camps.

The loop will be open every day from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM:
until 12:00 PM, access will be reserved for athletes and training teams, while from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM, the track will be open to amateurs as well.

With the opening of the technical loop, Livigno confirms its sporting vocation and its role as a premier destination for high-level athlete training and Nordic disciplines.
