Before and during the Olympic period, APF Valtellina organizes tours for journalists aimed at highlighting the peculiarities of the entire Valtellina territory.

January 15, 2025 The Winter Olympic Games in Milan Cortina 2026 will bring thousands of journalists and operators from all over the world to the competition venues.

A unique opportunity that APF Valtellina has chosen to seize with a targeted proposal: to transform the press presence at the event into a journey of discovery of the territory, going beyond the sports venues.

APF Valtellina, with the support of some provincial tourism consortia, has designed a series of tours dedicated to the press.

The aim is to intercept journalists present, particularly in Bormio and Milan within the Media Centers, places specifically dedicated to the press and also staffed by APF Valtellina.

In addition to engaging with journalists, APF Valtellina aims to offer the opportunity to experience immersive experiences in the territory: an invitation to discover what makes Valtellina unique, even away from the spotlight of the competitions.

Two types of tours are planned. The two-day tours, starting from January 22 and available before February 6, will depart from Milan to various Valtellina locations, namely the areas of Sondrio, Morbegno, and Valchiavenna.

Thanks to the collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce Como-Lecco, a stop on Lake Como is also planned, aimed at showcasing a nearby territory with great international appeal.

For each of the Valtellina locations, a specific thematic tour is proposed that includes food and wine experiences, cultural activities, as well as meetings with artisans and various operators.

During the Olympic period, however, daily tours are scheduled from Milan to Morbegno and from Milan to Valchiavenna.

Also, between February 6 and 22, journalists present in Bormio will have the opportunity to participate in tours in Grosio and its surroundings, with experiences at Villa Visconti Venosta and cooking classes for pizzoccheri, as well as tastings of local products.

The initiative is part of a long-term strategic vision: to use the Olympic event to build a lasting narrative of Valtellina, capable of attracting visitors even after the Games have ended.

A story made up of places, people, and values that deserve to be known internationally.

In addition to the tours for journalists, APF Valtellina plans numerous events during the Olympic period, also in Milan, aimed at the press but not limited to it, with a specific focus on the food and wine world.
