The Municipality of Teglio, in collaboration with the Tourist Consortium of Media Valtellina, is preparing again this year to celebrate the upcoming holidays with a calendar rich in events, designed for both adults and children, to spend the festive season joyfully together.

A program not only aimed at creating a festive atmosphere, but also an opportunity to get to know the local reality with the involvement of Entities, associations, volunteers, and artists who will offer moments of leisure, culture, and reflection on the Christian tradition of the Nativity.   

The events will kick off on December 6 with: at 11:00 AM at the Exhibition Hall of Palazzo Piatti-Reghenzani, the inauguration of the watercolor exhibition by artist Biondi Gabriella; at 14:30 a Christmas workshop in the library, and to close this intense day, from 16:30 to 18:00 Santa Claus and his helper in the house set up in the Garden of the Municipal Library “E.Branchi” will wait for the children with their letters and will give everyone a sweet surprise.

On Saturday, December 13 at 17:00, at the church of San Giacomo in Teglio, there will be a Holy Mass and a presentation of restoration works of the same.

Christmas carols through the streets of the town with children from the schools on the morning of Tuesday, December 16.

A Christmas Eve filled with initiatives. In San Giacomo di Teglio, on Saturday, December 24, starting at 17:00, with the collaboration of the Alpine Group of San Giacomo, Santa Claus and his helper will deliver a gift to each child from house to house.

In Teglio, at 16:30 at the parish church of Santa Eufemia, there will be a Novena. Following this, Santa Clauses will descend from the church bell tower, and there will be hot chocolate and tea and entertainment for everyone in collaboration with Astel Teglio and Cai Teglio.

At the end of the Holy Mass at 24:00, still at the parish church of Santa Eufemia, there will be a toast with the Alpine Group of Teglio.

There will be opportunities to enjoy music, cultural entertainments, and to get to know the territory:

guided tours with the Guides of Valtellina, readings, games, and workshops in the Library will brighten the days of both the old and the new year.

On Sunday, December 28 at 20:45 in the parish church of Santa Eufemia, there will be a concert titled “Chordae Caelestes” with Iuliia Bossert, Chiara Del Simone, Lorenzo Schiavi, and Paola Tettamanti.

With the arrival of the New Year, on Saturday, January 3, the winter edition of the cult summer event, Brindisi a Tei – Olympic Winter Edition at Palazzo Besta at 10:00 AM. A visit to the exhibition Il Senso del Vino, a conference and wine tasting, as well as pizzoccheri guided by journalist and sommelier Sara Missaglia.

In the evening, at 20:45 at the church of Tresenda, the concert “Per Rosa” with the Armonie in Voce choir conducted by Cristiana Garzelli.

On Sunday, January 4, in Prato Valentino, the first edition of “Teglio Vertical” and the much-anticipated third edition of “Tisane d’Inverno”, from 15:00 to 19:00 in the town center.

The afternoon will be warmed by the tasting of infusions accompanied by small samples of honey and sweets. To enrich the afternoon, there will be moments of entertainment for the little ones with readings in the library, and for the older ones with guided tours and music. From the morning, along Viale Morelli there will be “grandparents' games.”

The Christmas holiday period will end with the arrival of the Befana, on Monday, January 5, in Teglio. After the Holy Mass at 17:00, the arrival of the friendly old lady at the library garden with the distribution of sweets to all children in collaboration with the Alpine Group of Teglio.

A program that, however, continues even after the holidays. On Saturday, January 17 the third edition of TEI Ski Alp in Prato Valentino, an event requested by the Administration in collaboration with Cai Teglio and the Alpine Rescue. A day dedicated to ski mountaineering and the use of the avalanche transceiver along a predetermined route, and in the afternoon, at 16:00, a Unimont seminar titled “Transition of winter sports.”

On the same day at 10:30 at the Church of Sant’Antonio in Teglio there will be a  Commemoration for the fallen and missing for the homeland of the campaign in Russia and all wars. Holy Mass followed by lunch.

On Sunday, January 18 at 11:30 in the parish church of Santa Eufemia, the concert of the UT Insieme Vocale Consonante choir, project Olympia, la Montagna della Cultura.

The first month of the new year will conclude with the inauguration of the exhibition “Vette. Storie di sport e montagne” at Palazzo Besta, on Tuesday, January 27.

The sporting events, now become recurring, are confirmed: on Sunday, February 1, the highly sought-after “Gusta e Vai” now in its XVth edition and on Sunday February 15, in Prato Valentino, the Teglio Sunset Winter Run, a competitive running and walking race on snow.

There will be more events in the field of the Culture Olympics. Organized by Orchestra Canova, Musicamorfosi, and DanceHaus plus; on Sunday, February 8 at Palazzo Besta “Tango Rinascimentale” and on Tuesday, February 24 at 21:00 in the parish church of Santa Eufemia a concert “Magnificat”
