Today concluded an intense three-day event for the teachers who participated in the 1st training course “Designing service learning with the methodology ”AISO” (Apprendimento Immersivo Solidale Outdoor) in secondary school. An immersive course, in which teachers were asked to personally experience this new service learning methodology to then transfer it to immersive work campuses with classes in the Parco delle Orobie.

An initiative of the Parco delle Orobie Valtellinesi in collaboration with the Comune di Albaredo per San Marco and Scuole Outdoor in rete, with the sponsorship of the Comune di Morbegno.

For the President of the Park Marco Ioli “We have been collaborating with our Park Center in Albaredo for years to host school groups from all over Italy engaged in this form of teaching based on doing, which sees taking care of the territory as the first step to love and protect it, but also to make it thrive and maintain it.”

The Comune di Albaredo per San Marco, which hosted the three-day course at municipal facilities and the Park Center, confirms its full availability to continue on the path so far taken. The Deputy Mayor Antonella Furlini “We strongly believe in this form of teaching, especially for its pedagogical value. Teaching young people that the alpine landscape is not only beautiful but is built from centuries of hard work by mountain populations, of constant care and maintenance that, unfortunately, we are losing.”

The experience, which involved 10 professors from various parts of Lombardy, included park guides and some significant figures from the territory such as the Civil Protection and some Barilocc (the inhabitants of Albaredo), ASFO Valcorta, and the Mayor of Morbegno Patrizio DeL Nero, Prof. Pier Paolo Traversari, coordinator of Scuole Outdoor in Rete, developing this AISO methodology in a park “means providing concrete answers to adolescent problems in order to propose a school teaching that can concretely develop those active and responsible citizenship skills in a service relationship towards a territory.

Prof. Andrea Porcarelli, professor of General and Social Pedagogy at the University of Padua, held several pedagogical-didactic lessons regarding the skills and real tasks related to service learning.
