After the public presentations at the scholarship award ceremony and the concluding meeting with the Croce Rossa of Sondrio, the Municipality of Sondalo, in synergy with its Local Police Command, enthusiastically announces its participation in a new and significant initiative: “On the Road” 2025, a national educational project aimed at young people who wish to get involved and actively contribute to the life of the community.
The project, promoted by the association “Ragazzi On the Road”, targets young people aged 16 to 20 and offers the opportunity to spend a week in the field, from July 11 to July 17, 2025, alongside the Local Police, the Law Enforcement Agencies, and the rescuers. An educational path that combines the education to legality, civic sense, and the concrete experience of serving the community.
During the week, participants will work alongside Local Police officers in real operational shifts, experiencing firsthand the daily life of those who work to ensure safety and protection. The experience, which is also valid as PCTO (Percorsi per le Competenze Trasversali e l’Orientamento), school credits, or volunteer activities, has already involved thousands of young people throughout Italy over the last eighteen years.
Participants will have the opportunity to make direct contact with the world of emergency management, observing on the field the work of law enforcement and rescuers, and deepening the synergies that guide cooperation among the various actors involved in safeguarding safety and the common good.
The Mayor of Sondalo, Ilaria Peraldini, emphasizes the importance of the initiative: “With this project we aim to offer our young people a unique educational experience that puts them in direct contact with the world of volunteering, institutions, and security. In a time when there is an increasing need for civic awareness and a sense of responsibility, ‘Ragazzi On the Road’ represents a concrete opportunity to grow as active and aware citizens. I thank the Local Police Command for their great commitment and invite all interested young people to participate with enthusiasm.”
The initiative is part of a broader program that involves different age groups: for younger children, there is also the traditional Campo Scuola Alpini, demonstrating the constant attention of the municipal administration to civic education and the involvement of young people.
Registrations for the “On the Road” project are open until June 20, 2025, through the official website: www.ragazziontheroad.it
