From 24 to 29 October, Valtellina takes part in the event dedicated to the world of the mountains, in the setting of Piazza Città di Lombardia in Milan.
22 October 2026 - The Valtellina tourism system is the star at Milano Mountain Show, an event dedicated to the mountains, sport, the outdoors and nature, taking place in Milan from Saturday 24 to Thursday 29 October in Piazza Città di Lombardia: the event brings the mountains to the heart of the city, creating a meeting point between the public, local areas, institutions and sector professionals.
APF Valtellina – Azienda di Promozione e Formazione della Valtellina and the tourism consortia from the area take part throughout the event, starting on Saturday 24 with the opening of the "Village", a free-entry space designed to introduce visitors and families to outdoor activities. From skiing to snowboarding, from cross-country skiing to biathlon, with cycling and rock climbing in between, the programme offers opportunities for different audiences, so people can try out various disciplines and help the youngest discover winter sports. Valtellina’s presence in the Village will also be clearly visible thanks to a mountain-style reception point, where APF Valtellina will work alongside the tourism consortia of Madesimo, Valchiavenna, Morbegno, Sondrio and Valmalenco, and Bormio.
From Monday 26 October, Milano Mountain Show shifts into a more business-focused mode, with institutional meetings and conferences hosted in the Auditorium Testori at Regione Lombardia.
Valtellina takes to the stage on Thursday 29 October at 11.00 with the talk “The great Olympic event isn’t over - the best is yet to come”, moderated by Guida Viaggi journalist Paola Olivari. The panel will feature institutional greetings from Elio Moretti, President of APF Valtellina, followed by contributions from Giorgio Bianchi, President of the Sondrio e Valmalenco Tourism Consortium, Loretta Credaro, President of the Chamber of Commerce in Sondrio, Massimo Sertori, Councillor for Local Authorities and the Mountain at Regione Lombardia, and Sergio Schena for the Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026. Lastly, Arianna Fontana’s participation, as Ambassador of Valtellina, will add a contribution of great sporting, emotional and identity value to the presentation.
This will be followed by a convivial moment dedicated to the national press, along with a tasting of excellent food and wine products in their purest form, curated by the Distretto Agroalimentare di Qualità and the Consorzio di Tutela dei Vini di Valtellina, with Valtellina bresaola IGP, Valtellina Casera DOP and Bitto DOP cheeses, accompanied by DOC and DOCG wines from Valtellina.
“Taking part in events like Milano Mountain Show confirms our ongoing commitment to promoting the area: these occasions offer a unique opportunity for visibility, both to highlight our excellence and to strengthen Valtellina’s positioning in areas of interest and attract new markets,” says Elio Moretti, President of APF Valtellina.
The event, organised in collaboration with Regione Lombardia, is free and open to the public on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 October, from 10.30 am to 7.00 pm. From Monday 26 to Thursday 29 October, participation in the talks is free, but requires registration at milanomountainshow.it.
