The Pedü are the traditional shoes of Valmalenco. Mainly produced in the village of Lanzada, until the 1950s the Pedü accompanied the lives of the inhabitants of this alpine valley.
In fact, the Pedü were used both at home and outdoors, in the woods and on high mountain pastures, even in rain, snow, and ice.
These shoes, skillfully sewn by the local women during long winter evenings, were also used to participate in the life of the local community, during festivals and religious ceremonies.
In this case, the Pedü were made with bright and vibrant colored fabrics and adorned with ribbons and bows.
