The 2025 edition of Morbegno in Cantina will be remembered for the crescendo that characterized it: on the eve of the last of the three scheduled weekends, ticket pre-sales suggest two days of high numbers, very close to sold out.
Thanks to the beautiful weather announced and pleasant temperatures, along with the good impressions left in the past two weekends, purchases on the website www.morbegnoincantina.info have multiplied, especially by people coming from outside the province.
The satisfaction of the Municipality of Morbegno and the Consorzio Turistico Porte di Valtellina, responsible for the management, extends beyond numbers and appreciation to the positive response from the city, enveloped in a festive atmosphere brightened by the music of local bands.
Tomorrow, from 4 PM to 10 PM, and Sunday, from 12 PM to 6 PM, the final act of the 2025 edition will take place.
The most requested are the Giri Rosso, dedicated to the full-bodied red wines and Nebbiolo, in the Chiavennasca variety, the most authentic expression of Valtellinese winemaking, and Bolle, whites and... reds, with a selection of less structured wines.
The Giro Rock, making its debut, which features the most innovative wines produced by creative wineries, is a pleasant surprise for those who choose it, while the Giro Oro ’26, a tribute to the Olympic eve, an exclusive itinerary in seven stages (one more than the other three), has won over for its pairings and the setting at Malacrida, where even those choosing the other Giri, by purchasing an additional pass, can experience “Peccato a palazzo.”
In the cellars and tasting points, participants will be welcomed by volunteers from associations, tireless animators of Morbegno in Cantina and ambassadors of the territory, and by the sommeliers of Ais and Onav, who present the wines with their professionalism.
Also returning are the collateral initiatives dedicated to movement: yoga on Saturday and excursions with e-bikes on Sunday.
For both experiences, to be enjoyed by purchasing the relevant pass, the movement will be followed by a tasting: for yoga, Palazzo Malacrida has been chosen, while the destination for the bike rides is the vineyards surrounding Morbegno, returning to the former convent of Sant’Antonio to eat pizzoccheri and polenta with mountain salami.
If the selection of wines is rich, with as many as 36 labels from 25 wineries, so is the musical program: between 5 PM and 10 PM on Saturday and from 3 PM to 6 PM on Sunday, local bands and artists will alternate in the streets and squares of the historic center, along the routes of the wineries. Manoucherie Trio, Radiokaos, Daniele Donadelli, and Elisabetta Lucernari can be listened to tomorrow; Pedesina Jazz Band, Blast in the Wood, Alessandro Moroni, Officine Musicali, and Black Shiver on Sunday.
Passes can be purchased on the website www.morbegnoincantina.info (recommended option), or during the event at the sales point in via Pretorio (also for picking up pre-sales), as well as in piazze Bossi (in front of the station) and Sant'Antonio. The stations are open tomorrow from 3 PM and Sunday from 11 AM.
