🛒 Ingredients (for a 22-24 cm cake pan)
- 300 g of ricotta
- 200 g of sugar
- 200 g of 00 flour
- 50 ml of milk
- 1 packet of baking powder
- Orange zest (or vanilla or lemon)
- 3 eggs
📌 Optional but recommended: chocolate chips or candied orange peels
👩🍳 Step-by-step Preparation
- Lightly heat the milk, just to warm it up (not boiling).
- In a large bowl, mix ricotta and sugar using electric whisks, until you get a smooth cream.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well before adding the next one.
- Sift flour and baking powder directly into the mixture (very important for keeping the cake light).
- Pour in the milk and continue to mix with the whisks until you have a homogeneous batter.
- Add the orange zest (or other flavor) and mix. If desired, also add chocolate chips or candied peels.
- Pour the batter into a buttered and floured cake pan.
- Bake in a preheated static oven at 180°C for 30-35 minutes. Do the toothpick test: the cake will be ready when it feels dry on the surface but slightly moist in the center, thanks to the ricotta.
✨ Delicious Tip
With the excess batter, you can make mini cakes in jars: perfect as a gift idea!
