The big day, or rather the big days, has arrived: those of the Olympic torch relay. The torch that passes from hand to hand among different bearers, and that for a few hours transforms streets and squares into a small piece of history.
The 2026 Winter Olympics Milan Cortina are no longer a “distant” event: here in Valtellina we will experience them live.
Bormio and Livigno will host the competitions, and Valtellina will be on screens all over the world.
But there’s another moment that is sparking the curiosity of many people: the torch that crosses the province, passing from town to town.
And this is beautiful precisely for this reason: because it doesn’t only concern the locations of the competitions, but involves the entire community, even those who might say “I’m not interested” and yet, deep down, want to be part of it.
Because seeing it pass live is not something that happens often: it lasts only a few minutes, but you remember it.
The route in Valtellina will touch these locations (in this order): Aprica, Livigno, Madesimo, Bormio, Valdisotto, Tirano, Sondrio, Berbenno, Buglio in Monte, Ardenno, and Morbegno.
Below you can find the complete schedule of each stage, with times and passage points, so you can decide where to go and how to organize yourself to witness this moment.
It will be one of those things that will remain in the history of Valtellina.
And yes: let’s hope for the best.
